More Baby News
The results are in.....and it's a girl! Good job to all of you who guessed correctly on our survey. We had our 20 week ultrasound on Thursday, Sept. 18th, and it was an amazing experience. I couldn't believe how much our baby had grown since the 10 week ultrasound. She was so big we could only look at parts of her at a time. We got to see her brain, organs, legs, arms, and we even got a little wave from Baby. The ultrasound technician also took several measurements and found that she is measuring almost exactly to date according to our current due date, and all the measurements were proportionate--a good thing, I think! Our doctor also called to confirm that everything on the ultrasound looked good, so now we just get to wait 4 or 5 more months for our little girl to arrive. Mommy is doing well and is getting quite a big belly! The baby is an active little one, but so far only Mommy gets to feel her kicks and movements (I think Daddy got to feel one or two little kicks, but he's anxious for more!). We'll update our pictures soon and hopefully add a big belly shot.

Baby News
I'm sure everyone knows by now that Sean and I are expecting a new arrival on February 9, 2009. So far everything is going well with mom, dad, and baby. We had 6 week, 8.5 week, and 10.5 week ultrasounds, and everything looked good. The baby was measuring about 5 days bigger than his/her actual age at the 10.5 week ultrasound and heartbeat was 176. We just had our 14 week appointment yesterday and heard the baby's heartbeat--160. We decided to find out the sex of the baby so will be able to tell you more after our 20 week ultrasound.
In other news, we had to find another home for our little dachshund, Oscar. We are working with a dachshund rescue who will find him a great home where he can bark, dig holes, wee-wee in the house, and chew things up to his heart's content. We were so sad to see him go---especially because he has been really good these past few months. However, I was getting too stressed out having three dogs (it's a lot of work!) and was also a bit worried about how Oscar would act around a new baby, as he gets a little snappy sometimes.
That's all for now. I'll try and add some more pictures soon!

June 12, 2008---Summer of Weddings
It has been awhile since we have updated this thing so I'll try and catch everyone up. June started out with a bang as Christine attended the baptism of her godson, Liam, in Virginia. He was cute as a button and a model baby during the event, not making a sound as the priest poured Holy Water over his tiny head. The Virginia trip was full of fun times with Christine's nieces, Fiona and Siobhan, who kept her busy reading to them and playing with them. Needless to say, it was very hard to leave. :-(
The next weekend in June was another trip, this time for both Sean and Christine, to Portland, Oregon for the first of 4 Cruess weddings that will take place throughout the course of the summer and into early fall. Kevin and Sara were the lucky bride and groom, and the entire weekend was full of fun times with family---especially the beautiful wedding ceremony and the crazy Cruess dancing at the reception afterwards.
We're looking forward to the next wedding at the end of June that will take place in Porterville , CA and will feature Robbie and his lovely bride-to-be, Priscilla.

Today's Update:
Today was a sunny day in Colorado, making for a perfect opportunity for some yard work. Sean opted out in favor of setting up our computer to transfer video footage from the camcorder. Christy enjoyed a few hours in the sun with some gardening tools and a giant garbage can. She even planted a Colorado Blue Spruce in the backyard for Arbor Day!
What's new?
Christy and Sean have succumbed to the Boulder peer pressure and are going organic! Organic fruits and veggies taste lovely but are a little pricey. :-( Hormone free meat is another wonderful addition to our diet along with a few other exciting foods that we have tried in the past month or so. Christy loves quinoa, organic breads, and whole wheat pasta. Sean is still hanging on to his pizza and chips ahoy cookies but has been open to trying new things. Christy's first attempt at beef stew was a little on the crispy side, but her second try was MUCH better!
